'Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake' trailer goes to very distant lands

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake has released its official trailer, offering a preview of the upcoming return to the Land of Ooo.

The 10-episode spinoff series will follow Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat, the alternate female versions of Adventure Time protagonists Finn the Human and Jake the Dog. Frustrated by her mundane life in a world not unlike our own, Fionna soon finds herself and her cat Cake transported across the multiverse to the magical Land of Ooo. But as fantastic as it is, it isn't without its dangers, and the duo soon find themselves teaming up with former Ice King Simon Petrikov as they contend with a powerful new enemy.

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake premieres Aug. 31 on Max.
